Softball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lehman Catholic on Friday, Covington came back down to earth. The Buccs fell 16-12 to the Northmont Thunderbolts on Saturday.

Elizabeth Coblentz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabba Coblentz, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Northmont, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will take on Bradford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buccs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Railroaders have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Northmont, they will face off against Beavercreek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbolts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
