Softball Recap: South Fayette Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Fayette waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Montour Spartans as they made off with an 18-3 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

South Fayette's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Montour, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-1.

Coming up, South Fayette will host West Allegheny at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Montour, they will face off against Chartiers Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
