Recap: University Titans vs. Pine Ridge Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the University Titans, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were dealt a 62-22 defeat at the hands of Pine Ridge on Wednesday. University was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.
Pine Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaylee Roman led the charge by scoring 24 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Cressor, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
University bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Pine Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will take on Winter Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Winter Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday. As for Pine Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against New Smyrna Beach at 6:00 p.m. New Smyrna Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pine Ridge in Florida (New Smyrna Beach is ranked 187th, while Pine Ridge is ranked 529th).
