Baseball Game Preview: Lisle Lions vs. Peotone Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Lisle will face off against Peotone. The Lions will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Lisle has lost six straight at home , while Peotone has lost three on the road.

Lisle will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Peotone, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lions put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 16-3 win on Monday. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since April 25, 2023.

Myloe Thordson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Lisle's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 3-16-2 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Lisle got a massive performance out of JT Tumbarelli, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Tumbarelli a new career-high. Jase Twining was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Lisle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peotone only managed three.

Peotone's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Lisle, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17-2.
