Darrington (Wash.) notched 14 points on top of its 27-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against Tacoma Baptist (Tacoma, Wash.) 49-8.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Garrett Green in the second quarter, the Loggers were up 22-8 at the half.
Darrington expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Bruce Massingale touchdown run.
Massingale and
Lane Monteith ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Crusaders. Massingale scored two touchdowns on the ground and Monteith added two as well.
Tacoma Baptist's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter.
The Loggers came into the game allowing 17.8 points per game.
Darrington avenged last year's 28-21 loss to Tacoma Baptist with the victory.
Darrington (5-1) will play a non-conference game against Vashon Island next week, while Tacoma Baptist (0-5) will take on Vashon Island also in a non-conference game.
