Baseball Recap: Salem Hills Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Salem Hills walked away with it. They blew past the Springville Red Devils 8-1 on Saturday. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 17-6 win on Friday.

Talon Cloward was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Salem Hills' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 10-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kaleb DeGraffenried, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win (which was Salem Hills' fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-15. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Springville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.
