Basketball Recap: Hampden Dubose Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hampden DuBose Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Real Life Christian Academy Raptors on Saturday, sneaking past 64-61. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-53 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Real Life Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Inman Beardslee almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Beardslee a new career-high in points. Caleb Burden was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Hampden DuBose Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Real Life Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Real Life Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-62 defeat against North Kissimmee Christian on the 21st.
