Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Huss + How To Watch

Huss extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They enjoyed a cozy 78-62 win over the Harding University Rams. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 56-52 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.

Huss got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips out in front who shot 45% from the field en route to 21 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The matchup was Phillips' fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Jaleel Smith was another key player, going 6-for-13 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Huss smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding University only pulled down three.

As for Harding University, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), they still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Harding University still got an impressive performance from Kingston Henry, who posted 20 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Jackson, who had 16 points.

Huss and Harding University will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Huskies are set to square off against their familiar foe Ashbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harding University will take on rival A.L. Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
