Basketball Recap: Northern Highlands Drops Highest Score of Season Against Dwight Morrow

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northern Highlands). They managed a 75-69 win over the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders on Saturday. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Maroon Raiders are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Northern Highlands to victory were Jeffrey Weinberger and Lucas Dipasupil. Weinberger shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Dipasupil posted 24 points along with eight boards and five assists. The matchup was Dipasupil's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Pharoahe Dixon was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Northern Highlands smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Northern Highlands' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Dwight Morrow, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Highlands will face off against NV - Demarest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dwight Morrow, they will challenge Cliffside Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cliffside Park will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Dwight Morrow surely won't give up without a fight.
