Basketball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Gonzales Spartans

The North Salinas Vikings will head out to face off against the Gonzales Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Salinas has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

North Salinas easily dispatched King City last Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. North Salinas fell just short of Soledad by a score of 54-52 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Gonzales was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by St. Francis 80-44.

North Salinas now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Gonzales, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for North Salinas against Gonzales when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 72-42 win. In that game, North Salinas amassed a halftime lead of 44-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
