Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when GVCS Broadfording challenged Pallotti on Friday. The GVCS Broadfording Lions had to suffer through a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Pallotti Panthers. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, GVCS Broadfording saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fernando Garcia posted 13 points. Garcia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nashon Mann was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

GVCS Broadfording's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Pallotti, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

When GVCS Broadfording and Pallotti next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. GVCS Broadfording will try to stop Eastern Tech's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. GVCS Broadfording is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Pallotti will try to stop Williamsport's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
