Baseball Recap: Woodlan Takes a Loss

Woodlan had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-8 to make it five. They lost 11-1 to the Adams Central Flying Jets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 11-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Adams Central, the win got them back to even at 6-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

For Adams Central's part, Ethan Funk was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four hits gave Funk a new career-high. Max Byerly was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Looking ahead, Woodlan will host Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Adams Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Jay County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
