Volleyball Recap: Northeast Guilford Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Northeast Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Southeast Guilford Falcons, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9, 25-18.

Southeast Guilford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Tobin led the charge by getting ten aces and ten assists. Tobin is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Emma Vaughn was another key player, getting five aces and one assist.

Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Southeast Guilford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Northeast Guilford has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Asheboro on the 7th. As for Southeast Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Western Guilford on the 6th.
