Soccer Game Preview: Deering vs. Portland

The Deering Rams will challenge the Portland Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deering's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Deering's offense. They fell just short of Gorham by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Deering can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Gorham is ranked 17th).

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Portland and Falmouth, and Falmouth kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs lost 4-0 to the Navigators on Monday.

Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Deering, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
