Baseball Game Preview: Corinth Warriors vs. North Delta Green Wave

The Corinth Warriors will challenge the North Delta Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Corinth made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Oxford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 11-2 win on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Meanwhile, North Delta hadn't done well against Marshall Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Green Wave blew past the Patriots 13-2. North Delta's win was all the more impressive since the Patriots were averaging only 3.88 runs allowed on the season.

Landon Hoshell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karson Ware, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolby Baker, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Ware wasn't the only one making solid contact: North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall Academy only managed five hits.

North Delta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Corinth, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8-1.
