Recap: Centerville Miners vs. Box Elder Bears

Even though the Box Elder Bears scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Centerville Miners still came out on top. Centerville snuck past the Bears with a 60-55 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Centerville.

When it comes to explaining why Box Elder lost, one person who can't be blamed is Martay Stiffarm-Rosette. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stiffarm-Rosette has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taizj Henry, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Centerville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Box Elder, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Centerville's road trip will continue as they head out to face the on January 29th. Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Miners in Montana (the are ranked tenth, while the Miners are ranked 63rd). As for Box Elder, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Thunder Birds at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hays-Lodge Pole is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
