Preview: Wiregrass Ranch Bulls vs. Newsome Wolves
The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls and the Newsome Wolves will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wiregrass Ranch has five straight wins, Newsome has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wiregrass Ranch posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South Lake and snuck past 44-42.
Wiregrass Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tennae Cabral, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Kelley, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Newsome suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Bloomingdale 56-13. Newsome was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.
Wiregrass Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Newsome, they bumped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
