Recap: Big Valley Cardinals vs. Butte Valley Bulldogs
After flying high against Bethel Christian last Friday, the Big Valley Cardinals came back down to earth. Big Valley took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Butte Valley. Big Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Butte Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Big Valley still got an impressive performance from Kade Lemke, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Marcus Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Big Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Butte Valley, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Big Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dunsmuir at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Butte Valley, they will face off against Chester at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chester has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 262 points over their last four matchups.
