Softball Recap: Maple Mountain Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Maple Mountain extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Hunter. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Wolverines.

Kyla Donegan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brinley Cherrington, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphnee Pagano, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Maple Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hunter struck out nine times.

Maple Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Hunter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-11.

Looking ahead, Maple Mountain will challenge Spanish Fork at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Hunter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
