Baseball Recap: Banning Drops Highest Score of Season Against Gardena

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Banning). They put the hurt on the Gardena Panthers with a sharp 25-1 win on Wednesday. The Pilots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

Pedro Ibanez-Eddy was a standout: he got on base in six of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Banning: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Banning always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Banning is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Gardena and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
