South Rowan is 2-8 against Carson since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Raiders will host the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Rowan is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against East Rowan on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Raiders lost 33-12 to the Mustangs. The Raiders were down 26-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Although South Rowan took the loss, they still got scores from Nick Woolf Jr. and Trystin Chadwick.

Meanwhile, while it was Carson who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Jay M. Robinson who put up more. The Cougars came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 45-19. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

South Rowan's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Carson, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. South Rowan has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 169.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 208.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

South Rowan was able to grind out a solid victory over Carson in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 21-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Cougars' Damo'N Broussard, who rushed for 133 yards and two TDs.
