Soccer Recap: Concord Academy Comes Up Short

Concord Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carmel Christian Cougars. While losing is never fun, Concord Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Carmel Christian are ranked 79th).

Concord Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Carmel Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6-1.

Coming up, Concord Academy will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against SouthLake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. As for Carmel Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Carmel Christian will be up against Metrolina Christian Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.12 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
