Softball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Perry can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lake Flyers by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Sophie Sivon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Lake, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-7.

As of now, neither Perry nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
