Football Game Preview: Independence Mustangs vs. Benton Bobcats

The Independence Mustangs will square off against the Benton Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Independence ended up a good deal behind West Delaware and lost 42-27. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Benton was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of Clear Lake. The matchup marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Independence came out on top in a nail-biter against Benton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 20-17. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
