Softball Game Preview: Tuscarora Huskies vs. Warhill Lions

The Tuscarora Huskies will take on the Warhill Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Tuscarora is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Tuscarora is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Millbrook a 10-0 shutout. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Peyton Travis's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tuscarora saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Fries, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Paige Hahn was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Caroline typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Warhill proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Cavaliers 1-0.

Not much got past Skyler Wilson, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Caroline off the board.

Warhill is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarora, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
