Marian suffers third straight loss at home

The Marian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Universal Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marian has scored all season.

Universal Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cyrus Shaw out in front who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Webb, who scored ten points along with three blocks.

Marian bumped their record down to 11-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Universal Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Universal Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against BigTyme Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Averaging 67.4 so far this season, BigTyme Prep Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Universal Academy better be ready for a challenge.
