Basketball Game Preview: Creekside Seminoles vs. Mays Raiders

The Creekside Seminoles will head out on the road to square off against the Mays Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekside will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, Creekside humbled Drew with a 78-21 victory. The Seminoles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 20 points or more this season.

Creekside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from C?India Dennis, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points and six steals. Dennis has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Maliha Harris was another key player, going 6 for 9 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Creekside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mays). They took down M.L. King 70-51 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Creekside's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49 points. As for Mays, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Creekside against Mays when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 96-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Creekside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
