Basketball Recap: Andre Tyler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Millington Central over Brighton

Millington Central was the 49-31 winner over Brighton when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Millington Central Trojans fell 61-54 to the Brighton Cardinals on Tuesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Millington Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andre Tyler, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points. Tyler is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Tayshaun Dye was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Millington Central's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Brighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Millington Central will challenge Kirby at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kirby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 games -- so hopefully Millington Central likes a good challenge. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to square off against Ridgeway at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
