Softball Game Preview: Rio Rancho Rams vs. Cleveland Storm

The Rio Rancho Rams will take on the Cleveland Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Rancho has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rio Rancho is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Piedra Vista, who was ranked 15th at the time (Rio Rancho was ranked 12th). The Rams lost 21-5 to the Panthers on Friday. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Cleveland, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past Volcano Vista 18-7 on Friday. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Cleveland's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-11. As for Rio Rancho, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-7.
