The Gridley Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Pierce Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gridley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.

Gridley is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game two weeks ago. They lost 14-4 to Orland. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Delanie Cloyd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pierce). Everything went their way against Willows on Tuesday as they made off with a 25-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Pierce got a massive performance out of Danica Wilkerson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Ramos, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Pierce and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Gridley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gridley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .474. However, it's not like Pierce struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
