Baseball Game Preview: Graham Local Falcons vs. Southeastern Local Trojans

The Graham Local Falcons will take on the Southeastern Local Trojans at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Graham Local needed a bit of extra time to put away Shawnee. They had just enough and edged out the Braves 4-3. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Graham Local saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Powell, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southeastern Local). They put the hurt on Catholic Central with a sharp 9-3 victory on Tuesday. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024 (when they won 7-1).

Kyle Adkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Jake Alderson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Shope, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Southeastern Local was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Southeastern Local's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-15. As for Graham Local, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
