Baseball Recap: Woodland Park Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Woodland Park was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of the Colorado Springs Christian Lions by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Woodland Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Strouse, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Gabe Marquez was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Woodland Park's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Colorado Springs Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland Park will venture away from home to take on Elizabeth at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will head out to challenge Ellicott on Monday.
