It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Yorktown had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Center Grove Trojans. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their 22nd in a row.

Yorktown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-17.

Yorktown had a senior duo take command as Addi Applegate had 20 digs and Bailey Stevens had seven digs and 29 assists. Those 29 assists set a new season-high mark for Stevens.

Yorktown was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive contests.

Yorktown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 25 of their last 26 games, which provided a nice bump to their 33-2 record this season. As for Center Grove, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 27-9 record.
