 The Newport Wildcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cooper Jaguars at 7:00  p.m.  on March 12th. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
 Newport stacked  a  12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Sunday. They took their  match on the road  with ease, bagging a  60-29 win over Lloyd Memorial. Newport pushed the score to  46-18 by the end of the third, a deficit Lloyd Memorial had  little chance of recovering from.
 Newport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Tay Kinney, who  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds and five  assists. Kinney hasn't dropped below two  steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was  Jabari Covington, who  scored 14 points along with eight  rebounds.
 Meanwhile, Cooper came tearing into  two weeks ago's  game with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Conner by a score of  69-61. Given Cooper's advantage  in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings  (they are ranked 14th, while Conner is ranked 96th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Newport is  on a roll lately: they've  won 24 of their last 25 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 31-3 record  this season. As for Cooper, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Newport didn't have too much breathing room in their  matchup against Cooper  in their previous meeting  back in February, but they still walked away with a  48-42 victory.
