Recap: South Bend vs. Ocosta Wildcats
This season hasn't been kind to South Bend, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They took a serious blow against Ocosta on Thursday, falling 72-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat South Bend has suffered since December 20, 2023.
Adam Mora and Michael Nunez certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Mora dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Nunez scored 11 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mora has scored all season.
South Bend bumped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road. As for Ocosta, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.
South Bend will take on Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chief Leschi presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Bend in Washington (Chief Leschi is ranked 134th, while South Bend is ranked 363rd). As for Ocosta, they will head out on the road to face off against Ilwaco at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Ilwaco's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
