Softball Recap: George Jenkins Eagles vs. Auburndale Bloodhounds

George Jenkins won against Winter Haven last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The George Jenkins Eagles came out on top against the Auburndale Bloodhounds by a score of 11-6. Winning may never get old, but George Jenkins sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Payton Spears was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia Newman, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.

George Jenkins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Auburndale, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George Jenkins will challenge Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. George Jenkins knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Calvary Christian likes a good challenge. As for Auburndale, they will head out on the road to face off against Bartow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bartow is coming into the matchup with nine straight victories at home, so Auburndale will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
