Basketball Recap: Northwood Takes a Loss

Northwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rossford Bulldogs. The Rangers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Scarlett Williams was her usual excellent self, going 10 of 21 on her way to 23 points along with six boards and four steals for Rossford. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Rossford's points. Another player making a difference was Keaghan Mahaffey, who posted five points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Northwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Rossford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Northwood has already played their next contest (against Ottawa Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rossford will head out to take on Oak Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Harbor will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Rossford surely won't give up without a fight.
