Basketball Recap: Norfolk Collegiate Takes a Loss

Norfolk Collegiate lost against Peninsula Catholic back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peninsula Catholic Knights.

Peninsula Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zyon McClone, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Hunter, who earned 17 points.

Norfolk Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Peninsula Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Norfolk Collegiate will square off against Fredericksburg Christian on Tuesday. One thing working in Fredericksburg Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Peninsula Catholic, they have already played their next contest, a 53-46 defeat against Catholic on the 23rd.
