Football Recap: Kutztown Takes a Loss

Kutztown extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Columbia Crimson Tide. The Cougars were up 35-20 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

As for Columbia, their record now sits at 4-5. The victory almost wasn't to be: they were down 35-20 in the third quarter.

Leading Columbia to victory were Kareem Nichols and Cameron McClair. Nichols gained 219 total yards and three touchdowns, while McClair rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. What's more, McClair racked up 178 passing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Kutztown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 36-28 win against Pequea Valley on the 24th. As for Columbia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 34-6 victory against Hamburg on the 24th.
