Basketball Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Asheville Christian Academy lost against Christ School back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Asheville Christian Academy Lions were beaten by the Christ School Greenies 85-34. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Greenies are ranked first).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madden Collins, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacen Petty, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Asheville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Christ School, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Asheville Christian Academy Lions take on the Carolina Day Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christ School, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Christ School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
