Softball Game Preview: Southern Indians vs. United Golden Eagles

Southern is 0-5 against United since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Indians will head out on the road to take on the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Southern has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southern had taken East Palestine down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Indians came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-6.

Southern got a massive performance out of Raelea Carosiello, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, United had just enough and edged out Carrollton 8-7 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for United, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Southern couldn't quite finish off United when the teams last played last Monday and fell 6-4. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
