Softball Recap: D'Hanis Takes a Loss

D'Hanis lost against Harper back in April of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. D'Hanis lost 16-8 to Harper.

Kami Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Ryan Magers was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, D'Hanis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.

D'Hanis has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. Harper pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, D'Hanis will venture away from home to face off against Leakey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be D'Hanis' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Harper, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Junction at 5:00 p.m. Junction will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Harper surely won't give up without a fight.
