Softball Recap: Caruthers Takes a Loss

Caruthers's tournament run continued when they took on Mariposa County on Monday. The Blue Raiders took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies. The Blue Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sara Holford was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Juana Casillas, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Caruthers' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mariposa County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Caruthers and Mariposa County will both be playing Golden Valley the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will head out to face the Cougars at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, while the Blue Raiders will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
