Basketball Recap: Jermaine Earnest Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Las Lomas

There's no place like home for Pittsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Las Lomas Knights by a score of 73-65 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Pittsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermaine Earnest, who went 8 for 14 en route to 16 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Earnest a new career-high in steals. Terrance Wiley was another key player, going 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Pittsburg's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Las Lomas, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg has already played their next match (against College Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Las Lomas will take on Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Las Lomas' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
