Basketball Recap: Dublin Falls to Wheeler County in First Game of Season

Dublin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 67-59 to the Wheeler County Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Dublin had strong showings from Glen Harris, who went 7-for-14 en route to 21 points, and Chris Dixon, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 22 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dublin will host Wilkinson County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wheeler County, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Bacon County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
