The Mead Mavericks will face off against the Niwot Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niwot took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mead, who comes in off a win.
Mead is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since November 9, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Erie 3-2.
Mead was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-100), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmy Tecu, who had 24 digs and four assists. Those 24 digs gave Tecu a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamdyn Morris, who had five digs and two aces.
Mead was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Niwot unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Legacy by a score of 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Niwot sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-10, 23-25, 25-21, 9-25, 15-12.
Mead will have to keep a close watch on Olivia Hamlin and Sienna Knight, a pair of players who had a big impact on Niwot's prior game. Hamlin had 12 digs and two assists, while Knight had ten digs.
Niwot's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Mead, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Mead hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5 blocks per game. It's a different story for Niwot, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 blocks. Given Mead's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mead couldn't quite get it done against Niwot when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Elise Arends, who had 18 digs and five aces.
