Football Recap: Laguna Creek Falls to Vista Del Lago in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Laguna Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 35-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista del Lago Eagles on Friday. The Cardinals gained 59 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.

Laguna Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Keian Smith and Ryan Eddy. Smith picked up 212 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Eddy gained 151 total yards and a touchdown. Smith's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.

The critical scores for Vista del Lago came from Kyle Cromwell, Anthony Righini Jr, Jackson Cromwell, Dylan Davis, and Cael Rens.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laguna Creek is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Placer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Vista del Lago, they will take on Bradshaw Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
