Softball Recap: Hoopa Valley Warriors vs. Etna Lions

Hoopa Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-5 to the Etna Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Friday.

Kalia Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Amakyarram Bennett Blake was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Hoopa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Etna, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
