Softball Recap: Burbank Wins Going Away Against Providence Catholic

Burbank saw some tournament action on Thursday. They blew past the Providence Catholic Provets 9-1.

Burbank let Giselle Garcia and Jalyn Ortiz loose on the outfield. Garcia went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Ortiz scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Garcia a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianina Valdez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Burbank's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Providence Catholic, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Burbank is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Roma at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Catholic, they will take on Harlandale at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
