Softball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goodpasture Christian). Everything went their way against the Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-8 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Tuesday.
Hope Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Laura Beth Blessing, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Jones, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
Goodpasture Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ezell-Harding Christian only managed seven hits.
